Shōgun star Cosmo Jarvis is reportedly leaving Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey. Reports have also hinted at who would replace Jarvis in the undisclosed role. The star-studded cast of the legendary filmmaker’s upcoming movie also features Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, and Anne Hathaway.

Cosmo Jarvis dropped out of The Odyssey due to a scheduling conflict with his next project. The 35-year-old British actor will star in a biopic titled Young Stalin, which will unveil the story of the Russian dictator. (via Deadline)

Due to the tight schedules of the two projects, Jarvis had to leave Nolan’s epic saga, which is already creating buzz among Nolan fans. The Persuasion actor is focusing on Georgian-French director Géla Babluan’s period thriller. (via Variety)

Who replaced Cosmo Jarvis in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey?

As per current reports, Prometheus star Logan Marshall-Green has replaced Jarvis in the yet-to-be-disclosed role. Marshall-Green previously impressed viewers in several television shows, including 24, The O.C., Traveler, Dark Blue, and Quarry.

The actor has also bagged prominent roles in famous films like Devil, Prometheus, The Invitation, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Additionally, viewers have gotten a sneak peek at Nolan’s upcoming project from several reports. The Oscar-winning director’s adaptation of Homer’s classic tale chronicles the homecoming of Ithaca’s King Odysseus (Matt Damon) after the Trojan War.

The epic adventure saga spans treacherous seas where the King Odysseus confronts mythical creatures, including the Cyclops Polyphemus, enchanting Sirens, and the sorceress Circe.

Meanwhile, his faithful wife Penelope waits on their island kingdom, cleverly stalling persistent suitors by weaving a tapestry each night to delay remarriage. Their son Telemachus (Holland) preserves his father’s legacy during the prolonged absence. Divine figures such as Athena, Poseidon, and Zeus play pivotal roles in this mythological saga.

Production is reportedly underway across multiple international locations, including Morocco and Scotland, with the IMAX release scheduled for July 17, 2026.
