The release date of Masters of the Universe may still be far away, but at least the long-delayed action adaptation is finally happening. Nicholas Galitzine has now shared a first look of the film, and it is enough to have fans pumped for the movie.

Masters of the Universe will release on June 5, 2026. The talk of this movie has been around for over a decade. The studio finally confirmed that it had begun filming in February of this year.
Who is in Masters of the Universe’s cast?
Nicholas Galitzine will lead the cast for Masters of the Universe as Prince Adam/He-Man.
Besides Galitzine, the movie stars Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Sam C Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.
In addition, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein will join them in the movie (via The Hollywood Reporter).
What story does Masters of the Universe’s plot tell?
The plot of Masters of the Universe will revolve around Prince Adam of Eternia, who transforms into He-Man when he uses his magic sword. This, of course, is based on the 1980s cartoon series of the same name. Plans for a reboot of Masters of the Universe reportedly go back to 2007.
The plot of the movie will follow Prince Adam’s attempts to defend his homeland from sorcerer Skeletor and his armies. “10-year-old Prince Adam crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword, the only link to his home on Eternia,” the synopsis for the film reads.
“After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!” the synopsis further states.
