Why Is Wicked: Part One Leaving Peacock & When?

Even after its theatrical run, Wicked has amassed a huge viewership on streaming since its release, but now, the acclaimed musical is leaving Peacock. So, for those who want to catch the movie on Peacock, the time is running out.

However, the movie is not being removed from streaming platforms as a whole. Rather, there will be a new platform where fans can watch Wicked. Here are all the details on that.

When and why is Wicked leaving Peacock, and where to watch it next?

The hit musical Wicked has already been added to the list of movies and shows “Leaving Soon” on Peacock. It will depart from the streaming platform on July 20, 2025, according to a recent update.

Wicked leaving Peacock seems to be a part of the movie’s long-term deal. As per the deal between Universal and Amazon Prime Video, Wicked would stream exclusively on Peacock for four months before it premieres on Amazon Prime Video, where it will stream exclusively for the next 10 months.

The movie premiered on March 21, 2025, on Peacock, which means it has been nearly four months now. So, as per the prior agreement between Universal, Peacock, and Amazon Prime Video, the movie will change its streaming address this month. As per Prime Video, the movie will begin premiering on the platform from July 25, 2025, onwards. Given how popular the film has been since its release, it will be a huge boost to the platform’s viewership.

But it is also worth noting that Wicked: For Good, the continuation of the first movie, is also not very far away. The sequel will release on November 21, 2025, in theaters. It will complete the story of Glinda and Elphaba after the cliffhanger ending of the first movie.

Before the release of Wicked: For Good, fans can now catch the first movie on Peacock, and on Amazon Prime Video from July 25, 2025.
