28 Years Later Post-Credits: Is There a Scene at the End?

Viewers are eager to find out whether 28 Years Later features a post, mid, or end-credit scene. Directed by Danny Boyle, the horror-thriller movie follows the people still being affected by the virus that broke out 30 years ago.

It tells the story of a group of people who managed to survive and live on an island, which is linked to the mainland by a guarded causeway. However, when one of them crosses the mainland, he discovers a new virus, which poses a threat to the infected and survivors.

As the movie is about to release, fans have been wondering whether the audience should stay back for a bonus scene or not. So, here are the details.

Is there a post, mid, or end-credits scene in 28 Years Later?

28 Years Later has no post, mid, or end credit scenes. The audience is free to move out of the theaters once the credit starts rolling.

In some films, makers add a bonus scene at the end of the movie either to resolve any existing plot queries or to tease a sequel. In this film’s case, its future sequel has already been announced ahead of the movie’s release.

The latest movie has effectively set the stage for a trilogy as it will be followed by The Bone Temple and is slated to release sometime in early 2026. In a conversation with Empire, director Boyle revealed that they had a lot of ideas.

He said, “It was a wholly different approach. It was about what 28 years gives you.” Garland also revealed that the trilogy would be wholly story-driven. The director added, “This is very narratively ambitious. Danny and I understood that. We tried to condense it, but its natural form felt like a trilogy.”

28 Years Later will arrive in theatres on June 20, 2025.
