How to Train Your Dragon 2025 Post-Credits Scene Explained

Wondering whether How to Train Your Dragon (2025) features a post, mid, or end credits scene? The live-action remake follows the unexpected friendship between a Viking boy and a dragon named Toothless.

Their respective races have always been enemies. However, when a threat emerges that poses a risk to both their kinds, they team up to battle it and help bring peace around them. With the movie about the release in a few days, many are eager to know if additional footage could be expected.

So, here are all the details.

How many post-credits scenes are in How to Train Your Dragon?

There is one post-credits scene in How to Train Your Dragon.

The audience should sit in theatres even after the credits begin rolling, as they will be rewarded with an additional short scene, which appears to be a continuation of a previous scene. Generally, a franchise/movie utilises credit scenes to either tease future movies or to solve any unresolved queries in the plot.

Some franchises, like Marvel, also use scenes to reveal a specific character’s future. In this live-action remake, not using a credit scene to tease the upcoming sequel makes sense, given it has already been announced and is set to release on June 11, 2027. While this movie doesn’t have a mid-credit scene, it does feature a brief clip right after the credits conclude.

What happens in How to Train Your Dragon post-credits scene?

The post-credit scene is a follow-up to a particular moment from the movie. It features the Book of Dragons resting on the same table, as it did previously, when Hiccup was reading it. Its pages haven’t turned yet, still showcasing the page Hiccup was reading early on: The Night Fury.

Interestingly, there are no illustrations of The Night Fury. However, Hiccup steps in and places his notepad over the book. He opens it and shows his drawing of Toothless. The drawing seems to be the same one that he drew instantly after crossing paths with his now best friend. The camera remains on the drawing for the moment before it fades to black.
