Fans can expect the following changes to the gameplay experience and character roster in the Season 2.5 patch notes:
New character, new team-up abilities, and removed/altered team-up abilities
- Ultron will be added to the character roster as a flying strategist. As per the character’s official guide, he will possess the following powers and abilities:
- Encephalo Ray
- Dynamic Flight
- Imperative: Patch
- Imperative: Firewall
- Rage of Ultron
- Multiple heroes will have new team-up abilities. This includes:
- Symbiote Serum – Venom and Jeff the Land Shark.
- Chilling Assault: Hawkeye and Luna Snow.
- Stark Protocol: Ultron and Iron Man.
- Operation Microchip – Punisher and Black Widow.
- Jeff-nado: Storm and Jeff the Land Shark.
- Rocket Network/Tech Pals: Peni Parker and Rocket Raccoon.
- The following team-up abilities have been removed:
- Allied Agents (Hawkeye & Black Widow)
- Chilling Charisma (Luna Snow & Jeff the Land Shark)
- Symbiote Bond (Spider-Man, Peni Parker & Venom)
- Ammo Overload (Punisher & Rocket Raccoon)
- Additionally, Iron Man has been removed from the Gamma Charge team-up.

To ensure a better balance in the character roster and gameplay experience, some characters will be buffed, nerfed, and adjusted.

New experimental mode
Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol, a new experimental mode, launches on June 6, 2025. The gameplay is akin to auto chess or Team Fight Tactics.
Quality of life improvements
Hero proficiency avatars will be added to character select screens. This will allow players to see each other’s experience with chosen heroes.
Two new personalization systems are also being added: moods and emojis.
