Fans are hoping to see Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, in Avengers: Doomsday. Recently, Marvel Studios revealed the cast members for the film, but Matt was notably absent from the list. This has left fans wondering whether the Irish-American superhero will be part of the fifth Avengers movie. Interestingly, given that the announced cast encompasses characters from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movie series, there is considerable interest in whether Ben Affleck’s Daredevil from the 2003 feature will appear alongside Charlie Cox’s version.
Will Charlie Cox’s Daredevil be in Avengers: Doomsday’s cast?
Charlie Cox’s version of Matt Murdock / Daredevil was not listed among the cast members of Avengers: Doomsday, so it’s unclear whether he will be part of the movie. However, several other big names, including Tom Holland’s Peter Parker / Spider-Man, also weren’t announced, and Spidey is one of the most prominent characters currently active in the MCU.
Further, Marvel has teased that they would announce more cast members in the future, so it’s possible Cox’s Daredevil and Holland’s Spider-Man will be announced as a part of the cast in the future.
Daredevil: Born Again, the currently ongoing MCU show on Disney+, is a revival and continuation of the Daredevil series that originally streamed on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. Daredevil is an immensely popular character among the MCU fans. Accordingly, even though Matt is a street-level superhero, Marvel might still want him to be part of their bigger stories, alongside Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle / Punisher and other characters. And if they don’t ultimately appear in Doomsday, they can still do so in Secret Wars.
Will Ben Affleck’s Daredevil be in Avengers: Doomsday?
The 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine teased Affleck’s iteration of Daredevil. It’s highly unlikely that he will appear in Doomsday. He can potentially be part of Secret Wars, but then again, Affleck has recently said that he is no longer “interested” in doing superhero movies. Notably, besides Daredevil, Affleck played Bruce Wayne / Batman in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe).
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will premiere in theaters in May 2026 and May 2027, respectively.
