Conquest’s fight with Invincible spans issues #61 to #64.
The Invincible vs. Conquest fight begins when the latter arrives on Earth shortly after the Invincible War’s conclusion. Conquest confronts Mark and discusses with him his progress in preparing Earth for the Viltrumite takeover. An enraged Mark, still reeling from the guilt caused by the devastation brought by his variants, boldly tells Conquest that he was eager to hit something incredibly hard.
Conquest is pleased, indirectly admitting he cared more about fighting than the assimilation of planets for the Viltrum Empire’s expansion. He then begins his fight with Invincible.
In the initial stages of the battle, Invincible manages to hold his own decently against Conquest. However, the tides soon turn in Conquest’s favor, after he punches Mark in the face incredibly hard, causing part of the latter’s mask and goggles to tear off and break.
Desperate for a breather, Mark momentarily retreats, but Conquest refuses to grant him any respite. Kid Omni-Man arrives to help Invincible but is sent away by him before he can get hurt.
Conquest continues his assault, easily countering all of Mark’s punches while trying to provoke him into unleashing his full rage. However, he is left disappointed when Mark fails to do so. Conquest then reveals that he had been toying with Mark earlier in their fight.
Kid Omni-Man returns to help but is unfortunately incapacitated. Atom Eve also arrives to fight but is impaled and killed, enraging Mark. This causes him to unleash his full strength on Conquest and deal considerable damage to him. Atom Eve then resurrects and unleashes a powerful blast that heavily scars Conquest, allowing Mark to fully finish him off. Conquest eventually lost consciousness from the battle.
After the battle, Cecil removed Conquest’s body from the battlefield. He then created a duplicate corpse to show Invincible after he recovered. Later, Conquest fully healed, escaped into space.
