The Dark Knight Rises Catwoman and Batpod From McFarlane Toys

When McFarlane Toys put out their build-a-Bane wave of figures from the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy of movies, fan response was pretty clear: where’s Catwoman? It’s not that the figures offered were bad. On the contrary, they were good enough that to end the line there would have been a big disappointment and perhaps a significant leaving of money on the table. Never fear: Anne Hathaway‘s Selina Kyle is on the way, and she’s bringing a vehicle with her. As seen in her very first official still from the film, she’ll be riding the Batpod.

Pod Person of Interest

The Batpod, lest anyone forget, is the Nolanverse version of the Batcycle, which sacrifices armor for mobility, and shoots out of the tumbler Batmobile. It also features uncharacteristic fatality-inducing guns, which give Batman full plausible deniability when Catwoman uses it to shoot Bane dead. Hey, he didn’t pull the trigger! He’s still not a killer! (Ben Affleck’s crime as Batman was not finding a convenient scapegoat ally to actually use his lethal weapons instead.)

Preorders on the Catwoman and Batpod set begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. PT, and it appears this set will be exclusive to the McFarlane Store. That doesn’t mean no other version will ever be available — Todd does love his variants, after all. But if you want to be sure of this version of the figure and vehicle in movie colors, grab it while it’s hot. As of this writing, pricing remains unknown. It looks like the goggles flip down on her head, but don’t hold us to that.

We still need at least a Begins Batsuit, decoy Ra’s al Ghul, and Ducard/real Ra’s, but this gets us closer to a solid Nolanverse collection. A full-scale tumbler might be asking a bit much.
