Hasbro’s The Book of Boba Fett Jabba Throne Room Playset Revealed

Hasbro and Kenner made a couple of Jabba thrones over the years. But aside from a fancy Comic-Con exclusive cardboard package, an actual Jabba Throne Room playset never really became a thing. Until now, that is. Based most directly on The Mandalorian season 2’s post-credits scene and The Book of Boba Fett, the latest big Hasbro reveal comes loaded with custom options to span the generations. Make it Jabba’s throne, Bib Fortuna’s throne, or Boba Fett‘s. And to assist, the set provides the first-ever figure of old, overweight Bib. Note that this playset, exclusive to Hasbro Pulse in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, scales to the vintage 3-3/4 inch collection rather than the 6-inch Black Series. Even at that size, it runs a hefty $229.99.

Like a Playmobil playset, the Jabba Throne Room comes with 50 loose accessories to be placed anywhere in the display. (And probably glued in favorite positions, for anyone who has pets or lives on unsteady ground.) The dais rolls out on wheels, with the throne removable for bigger characters like Hutts.

While the set won’t become available until next summer, preorders begin tomorrow, Thursday, at 1 p.m. eastern on Hasbro Pulse. No word on if the numbers will be limited, or if it’s made to order, but this not a HasLab and will definitely get made.

The Jabba Throne Room set proved the highlight of a Hasbro Star Wars livestream this morning, which only revealed one other completely new item: the 6-inch Gaming Greats Nightbrother Archer:

The Hasbro team also announced archival rereleases — with upgraded deco in some cases — of the Black Series Threepio, Lando in Skiff Guard disguise, Emperor Palpatine, and Dengar, along with a Vintage Collection 501st Clone reissued on a Clone Wars card with the new Bad Batch multipack head. Future vintage collection figures of Episode II Anakin and a red Mandalorian Commando got teased but not shown, as well as 6-inch figures of Aayla Secura, Rogue One Saw Gerrera, and Clone Wars Season 7 Maul. The Black Series archive will also bring back Episode VII Han Solo, Episode IV Chewbacca, Grand Moff Tarkin, and Leia in Boushh disguise.

Still, that playset remains the big announcement. But is it worth $229.99 to you? Let us know in comments.
