Everything We Know About the 2016 Superhero Movies

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 – June 3, 2016

It may come as a surprise, but 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot made a lot of money, $485 million at the worldwide box office to be precise, so a sequel is on its way and is directed by Earth to Echo‘s David Green from a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec.

The film shot this summer in New York City and featured the return of Megan Fox as April O’Neil and Will Arnett as Vern Fenwick, with Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, and Noel Fisher providing the motion capture for the titular Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo on set. William Fichtner will also return as Eric Sacks for the sequel.

Newcomers to the film include Brittany Ishibashi as Karai, WWE superstar Sheamus as Rocksteady, Gary Anthony Williams as his counterpart, Bebop, Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, and Brian Tee as Shredder.

The Turtles and Casey Jones will have some slick new rides for the film, which Michael Bay revealed on his official website.

We also know about one particular cameo shot for the film, Judith Hoag, who played the role of April in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film released in 1990.

Though unconfirmed Los Angeles Clippers player J.J. Redick appeared on Grantland’s “The Lowe Post” podcast where he spoke about filming a scene for the movie and revealed it will be titled Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles: Half Shell.
