Green Arrow’s new Absolute costume may be the DC character’s coolest look ever.
Yesterday, DC Comics announced that a new Absolute Green Arrow miniseries is in the works from Pornsak Pichetshote and Rafael Albuquerque. While Oliver Queen was killed by Hawkman in the Absolute Universe, the new series will begin to provide some answers to the many questions that fans have been left with ever since his murder.
What does Absolute Green Arrow’s costume look like?
In announcing the Absolute Green Arrow miniseries, DC also unveiled a first look at the character’s striking new costume, complete with a mask that features glowing red eyes. Check it out below:
A description of the new Absolute Green Arrow miniseries reads, “A serial killer is slaughtering corrupt billionaires, and the only clue to his identity is the green arrows protruding from the victims’ bodies. Executive protection specialist Dinah Lance, also known as Absolute Black Canary, is assigned to uncover the murderer’s identity as she investigates a list of suspects drawn from the ranks of DC’s most dangerous archers. Each one is uniquely connected to a recently murdered Oliver Queen. A deadly mystery unfolds in this urban horror reimagining of the Emerald Archer’s mythos, brought to life by Eisner Award–winners Pornsak Pichetshote and Rafael Albuquerque.”
There, of course, remains the question as to whether or not Oliver is now the one behind the Green Arrow mask. Given he’s dead, it’s possible that someone else has taken up the mantle — Roy Harper is always a good guess — though there are also those who believe that Ollie either survived or has now been turned into a zombie-like creature. It’s also unclear if this new Green Arrow is strictly good or if they’ll be more villainous.
Absolute Green Arrow #1 features cover art by Albuquerque, with variant covers coming from Gerald Parel, Guillem March, Reiko Murakami, andTula Lotay. The issue will be released on May 20, 2026.
