Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo is teasing his next Marvel Comics project after the Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man series.
In 2022, Marvel Comics launched a five-issue Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man series written by Taboo and B. Earl, featuring artwork by Juan Ferreyra. Before that, Taboo — who also created an original song, “Welcome to the Neighborhood,” for the Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man trailer — worked on a Werewolf by Night comic in 2020.
What did Taboo say about his next Marvel project?
Speaking with ComingSoon in an exclusive interview, Taboo confirmed he’ll have a new Marvel Comics project coming in 2025.
Taboo didn’t specifically name which character the project will be about, though he did say he’s currently in the “process of writing a new book” for Marvel that arrives sometime this year.
He added, “ I also have a podcast that I created that’s called Taboo’s Comics and Kicks. We discuss comic books, the ones that I’ve written and some that I’m a fan of, and a lot of storytelling. Toys and action figures because that goes along hand-in-hand with comic books. And, also, kicks because I’m a sneaker head. We’re going to embody all of these conversations and bring people like Rufio from Hook, Dante Basco, or people like Eric Bauza, who does Bugs Bunny. People like that to be part of it. Marvel writers, illustrators, and animators.”
The description of the Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man series reads, “A revolutionary dark take on Spider-Man! What is reality and what is dream? What is science and what is magic? At the intersection of these crossroads stands the Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Peter Parker travels to Los Angeles, but what he finds are definitely not angels. The demons waiting there will test him like never before. And one demon in particular ― a very famous one for Marvel and X-fans ― might just eat Spider-Man alive! Beset by nightmares whenever he falls asleep ― and sometimes even when he’s awake ― a weary Peter is in no condition to face…the Demon Bear! But with no rest in sight, the web-slinger will have little choice but to dig in and hang on ― unless he wants to meet a grizzly end!”
Taboo is also reprising his role as Quickatoo in the new season of Dora, which premieres on Paramount+ on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
