Famed for his trademark hockey mask and golf bag full of weapons, Casey Jones is a longtime ally of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Despite his popularity, Jones hasn’t had a comic book of his own in over 30 years. That changes this fall, as IDW Publishing gives the man in the hockey mask a new lease on life in TMNT: Casey Jones.

TMNT: Casey Jones #1 will spin out of the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles monthly comic series published by IDW. It will be written by Batman: Urban Legends writer Alex Paknadel. The artwork will be provided by Green Arrow artist Amancay Nahuelpa and colorist Luis Antonio.
The story will pick up from Casey Jones’ story in the current TMNT continuity, where he was shot during the opening story arc. Newly recovered, Casey is anxious to get back on the street and go all-out to protect people. This concerns both his partner in crimefighting, Raphael, and his girlfriend, April O’Neil. However, things will only get worse after Casey Jones uncovers both a frightening new villain and a new strain of mutagen that threaten New York.

When is the TMNT: Casey Jones #1 release date?
TMNT: Casey Jones #1 is scheduled to arrive in comic shops everywhere on September 10, 2025. It is currently planned to run for six issues. However, despite being set in the IDW reality, it will present a back-to-basics approach to the beloved vigilante.
“IDW and a host of talented creators have deepened and enriched Casey’s mythology over many years,” noted Paknadel. “But Amancay and I are making our contribution at a uniquely exciting time. We’re going to be taking Casey back to his roots.”

“I’ve been a big fan of Casey Jones since I saw the cartoons and the movie when it first came out,” remarked Nahuelpan. “Together with Raphael, they’ve always been my favorite TMNT characters and I am a big fan of New York City, so anything related to the Turtles and New York . . . I’m gonna be more than happy to draw!”
“Casey Jones is one of the best characters in the TMNT universe,” stated series editor Dave Wielgosz. “He’s loyal, brave, pure of heart, and as we’re going to see in this mini-series, more than a little reckless. If you love street-level vigilante stories and the world of the TMNT, you’re going to love our book.”
