DC’s iZombie Omnibus Gets Black Label Reprint

DC has released a new edition of iZombie: The Complete Series Omnibus under its Black Label imprint.

Per Conskipper, iZombie: The Complete Series Omnibus (2023 Edition) officially hit shelves today, October 24. The 672-page hardcover collects all 28 issues of iZombie by Chris Roberson, Michael Allred, and Laura Allred — plus House of Mystery Halloween Annual #1 and #2.

“Gwen Dylan is a gravedigger in an eco-friendly cemetery … and a zombie detective,” an official synopsis reads. “Once a month, she has to eat a human brain — both to keep from going all ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ and to keep her own memories intact. As a result, Gwen’s mind is crowded with the dead person’s thoughts. And lately, she feels compelled to fulfill their final requests.”

iZombie spawned its own TV series

DC originally published iZombie under its now-defunct Vertigo Comics imprint from May 2010 to August 2012. The publisher collected the 28-issue series in four trade paperback editions from March 2011 to December 2012. The first edition of the hardcover omnibus collecting the entire series arrived in December 2015.

It was in March 2015 that Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright’s iZombie — a loose adaptation of the original comic — premiered on The CW. The series went on to run for five seasons, ultimately concluding in August 2019. It starred Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, and more.

iZombie: The Complete Series Omnibus (2023 Edition) is on sale now from DC.
