Exclusive Preview – Punisher War Journal: Blitz #1

Frank Castle, as you knew him, is no more. The ninja death cult known as The Hand has successfully recruited The Punisher to become their newest Fist of the Beast. And Castle joined The Hand of his own free will, because they offered him something he couldn’t refuse: The resurrection of his wife, Maria Castle. Naturally, The Hand is using Castle to manifest the Beast on Earth. However, Castle is using The Hand as well. As far as the Punisher is concerned, his mission hasn’t changed. He just has an army of ninjas to do his bidding as he goes out against threats even the Punisher couldn’t handle alone. Punisher War Journal.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Punisher War Journal: Blitz #1, Torunn Gronbekk and artist Lan Medina send Castle and the Hand against the forces of Finn Fratz, a.k.a. the Hate-Monger. Castle has been aiming to take down this guy for years. But unlike many of Castle’s previous enemies, the Hate-Monger has his own private army at his disposal. And he has already laid a trap for the Punisher and his ninja followers.

Here’s the official description from Marvel.

Finn Fratz knows that if you want people to hate each other, a Banner cannon in the right pair of hands goes a long way. The aging war profiteer earned his spot on the Punisher’s kill list well before he adopted the moniker Hate-Monger, but he has proven an elusive man. Now, with the Hand at his disposal, Frank Castle is ready to smoke him out. But not only has Hate-Monger gone to ground, he’s fighting back. Good for him. It’s not going to change anything but the death toll. Torunn Grønbekk and Lan Medina join forces to bring you the first of three thrilling tales from between the pages of PUNISHER, exploring Frank’s new modus operandi through some of his deadliest missions yet…
