Marvel and Fortnite Collide Again In Zero War Comic Book Miniseries

Two years ago, some of Marvel’s greatest heroes were drawn to Fortnite‘s Island in Fortnite X Marvel  – Nexus War: Thor. After two Fortnite and DC crossovers last year, Marvel and Fortnite will collide again this summer in a new miniseries, Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point co-writers Christos Gage and Donald Mustard will script the five-issue miniseries, which will be illustrated by Sergio Davíla. Cage is a long-time comic writer and screenwriter who has written Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics for Dark Horse, and numerous titles for Marvel including Avengers Academy, The Amazing Spider-Man, and X-Men Legacy. Cage was also a writer on Daredevil season 1. As for Mustard, he is Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer, while Davila has previously drawn Red Sonja for Dynamite and Captain Marvel for Marvel.

Zero War will bring Fortnite‘s never-ending war back to the Marvel Universe, while offering the inhabitants of the island a chance to escape their fate. Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Shuri will join forces with some the Island’s heroes to find the Zero Shard, “a crystallized fragment of the Zero Point that was cast into the Marvel Universe.” But if the Imagined Order finds the Zero Shard first, then the Marvel Universe and the Island may face a catastrophe.

Marvel has also released the cover for the first issue by Leinil Francis Yu, which you can see below.

Here’s the official description for the miniseries:

“THE MARVEL UNIVERSE COLLIDES WITH FORTNITE!

The inhabitants on the Island are locked in what seems a never-ending war, and only one thing has the potential to turn the tide–a crystallized fragment of the Zero Point that was cast into the Marvel Universe. Spider-Man and Wolverine team up with several Fortnite fighters and new recruit Shuri to hunt down the elusive Zero Shard. Will these allies be able to find it in time and avert catastrophe? And can the heroes of the Marvel and Fortnite realities hold off the Imagined Order long enough to give them a fighting chance?

Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer, Donald Mustard, teams up with veteran Marvel writer Christos Gage (SPIDER-GEDDON, AVENGERS ACADEMY) and artist Sergio Davila (CAPTAIN MARVEL) for a five-part crossover with enormous ramifications for both universes! Each first print issue contains a redeemable code to unlock a bonus digital cosmetic in Fortnite!”

Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War #1 will hit comic book stores in June. As noted above, anyone who buys a first printing will get a free cosmetic item from Fortnite‘s in-game shop. Additionally, Marvel Unlimited subscribers who read all five issues will get an additional Fortnite cosmetic.
