Marvel is Giving Spider-Ham His Own Miniseries in December

Last year, Spider-Ham oinked his way into the hearts of millions when he appeared in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now, Marvel is capitalizing on the character’s newfound popularity by once again having him star in his own comic book. Via CBR, the publisher has announced that the first issue of Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham will arrive this winter.

This upcoming five-issue miniseries comes from writer Zeb Wells and artist Will Robson. Wells is certainly no stranger to Spider-Man-related titles. Over the last two decades, he has tackled the likes of The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man’s Tangled Web, and Peter Parker: Spider-Man. Since 2007, Wells has worked as a writer and voice actor on Robot Chicken, which makes him a good fit to handle the parody that has defined Spider-Ham since his first appearance’s 1983.

Meanwhile, Robson just helped to relaunch Marvel’s Future Foundation series with writer Jeremy Whitley. He has also lent his talents to Spider-Man/Deadpool and Secret Warriors.

As the first issue’s cover makes clear, the series will also feature the multiverse’s main Spidey, Peter Parker. The description reveals that the two webslingers will team up on a mission that involves time travel. However, it doesn’t specify which time periods they’ll be visiting. Most recently, Peter Porker showed up in June’s Spider-Man Annual #1, which was written by Jason Latour and drawn by David Lafuente. That issue also featured a back-up story courtesy of Into the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
