Kevin Feige has credited MCU fans as a major influence on Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s ending. The Marvel Studios president recalled the day of filming that led to one of the movie’s most memorable scenes.
Kevin Feige recently appeared at the University of Southern California for a special Spider-Man: Brand New Day screening. During the interview, he also shed light on the film’s production. At one point, he recalled the day fans visited the filming site for the tank scene. Their passionate cheer that day influenced the making of the ending scene where Spider-Man was cheered by people after his recovery in the hospital.
“The very first week of production, there were hundreds of people on the street, and they were all filming,” Feige shared. “So, it got a lot of press. But it happened to also look awesome, because there was a giant rig above this tank driving and an actual stuntman swinging back and forth through it and landing on the side of it.”
The Marvel Studios head added, “And that really invigorated all of us and Destin [Daniel Cretton] to, A. People literally coming out and saying, ‘We love you, Spider-Man,’ like at the end of the movie, happened on the first day of production on this movie. And that sense of how thrilling it is for people to know that on some level, there was a guy in a suit swinging, swinging through the streets.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has shattered box office records worldwide
Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to soar at the box office over a month after its theatrical premiere on July 31. The film has grossed a worldwide total of $2.339 billion, breaking multiple box-office records. It not only became the highest-grossing Spider-Man film, but also the third highest-grossing film of all time.
Spider-Man 4 also currently holds the title of the highest-grossing film of 2026 after The Odyssey and Toy Story 5. Meanwhile, MCU fans are also waiting for Avengers: Doomsday, which could potentially snatch the spot. The highly anticipated movie arrives in theaters on December 18.
