A new behind-the-scenes video from Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows off an astounding stunt that could not make it to the final cut. The footage gives fans another look at the filmmaking process behind action sequences for Tom Holland‘s recent web-slinging adventure.
The BTS clip, shared by @MovieNews121 on X, captures a stuntman seemingly practicing in the action sequence. He runs across the setup and performs a huge twisted roll in the air before launching himself into the air. Later in the same video, Spider-Man performs the same stunt on the huge set, as seen through the camera used during filming.
While the movie features plenty of swinging actions, this stunt never made it to the big screen. The deleted sequence adds to the growing collection of BTS material surrounding the fourth Holland wall-crawling film. Earlier, the editing team revealed that several additional fight sequences and action scenes were eventually removed because they did not serve the story.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the superhero movie starred Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, and Sadie Sink. The blockbuster opened to rave reviews and grossed more than $2.3 billion at the global box office.
What’s next for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after Brand New Day?
While Spider-Man 4 remains his latest MCU and on-screen appearance, the English actor said he would continue playing Spider-Man for as long as Sony and Marvel want him to. Moreover, the film’s post-credit scene, reading “Spider-Man Will Return,” hints at a potential cosmic or multiverse crossover.
Recent reports also indicate that Holland’s Spider-Man will appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, the last Phase Six film in the MCU. In another interview, the 30-year-old said he wants to eventually pass the baton to his successor and guide them through the next adventure.
Beyond the superhero films, Tom Holland is preparing for a different project. He is set to star as Fred Astaire in an upcoming, untitled Sony Pictures biopic directed by Paul King.
