Sophie Turner’s Tomb Raider TV show is facing serious allegations. The series has reportedly breached UK health and safety laws during filming. The upcoming show developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge entered production earlier this year in the UK.
A Deadline report reveals Britain’s Health and Safety Executive concluded that the series breached UK safety laws during production at Shinfield Studios. According to the HSE, the series, under the name Project Temple Productions, breached the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. According to the ruling, the production failed to ensure that the crew underwent biological monitoring during the spraying of isocyanate paints.
The board then issued a notice to the production in April, which the filmmakers followed. This marks the fourth production in four years to receive a notice issued by the HSE. Earlier this year, the series halted filming after Turner suffered an injury on set.

The Tomb Raider series marks the franchise’s latest reboot following multiple past iterations. The titular hero, Lara Croft, was previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in feature films. The upcoming show will mark the first time the character has appeared in live-action TV. It also marks Turner’s third franchise entry, after portraying Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones and Jean Grey in the X-Men films.
While no release date has been announced, it is expected to debut between Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst. Both games are currently being developed by Crystal Dynamics.
Turner will be joined by Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Jason Isaacs as Atlas DeMornay, Bill Paterson as Winston, and Sigourney Weaver as Evelyn Wallis. Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, Wells Street Films, Story Kitchen, and Legendary Television are executive producers on Tomb Raider.
Tomb Raider will premiere on Prime Video.
