Some lucky fans can watch Crystal Lake‘s first episode before anyone else, ahead of its premiere. The upcoming horror TV series is a prequel to the original Friday the 13th movie.
Crystal Lake will be released on Peacock on October 15, 2026, but fans in New York can catch it early. The upcoming New York Comic Con, hosted by Peacock, will feature an exclusive first-look screening of the show’s premiere episode, according to Bloody Disgusting.
The special screening will take place on October 8, 2026, at 6:30 pm on the Empire Stage at the New York Comic Con.
What is the new Crystal Lake TV show about?
Crystal Lake horror TV show will feature Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees. The ensemble cast also includes Devin Kessler, Will Catlett, Danielle Kotch, and Nick Cordileone.
A few days ago, Crystal Lake’s showrunner, Brad Caleb Kane, teased what the series is going to be about. And it’s not what most of the Friday the 13th fans are expecting. In fact, the show will take a totally different route from the films in the long-running franchise.
Caleb Kane revealed, “Teens go out to a place, they are having sex and doing drugs, and then they are hunted by Mrs. Voorhees or Jason in the subsequent films. But, thankfully, we weren’t making a Friday the 13th movie.”
He added, “We were doing a story about the town and a prequel about Jason’s mom, and it was really fresh snow.” This means Crystal Lake will have its own fresh lore and elements compared to the movies.
As for the show’s general plot, it will follow two strangers arriving at Pamela’s house. As they try to learn more about her past, a disturbing chain of events begins, leaving the people of Crystal Lake wondering about Mrs. Voorhees’ true reality.
