Ryan Gosling and Shawn Levy‘s anticipated MCU movie, Ghost Rider, has received its official release date. Ghost Rider was announced last month, with Gosling as the lead, during the Hall H Panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
The movie is set to officially hit theaters on July 28, 2028, according to Disney‘s updated release calendar. It will arrive after another highly anticipated MCU film, Untitled X-Men, set for May 5, 2028.
Interestingly, Gosling’s film is now listed as Untitled Ghost Rider rather than just Ghost Rider. While plot details are still under wraps, early rumors suggest the movie may feature Mephisto, Lilith, or Blackheart as the main villain. All unverified reports and claims should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
Ryan Gosling and Shawn Levy are also making a Star Wars movie together that comes before Ghost Rider
Before Ghost Rider’s debut, there’s another Ryan Gosling and Shawn Levy movie that will make its way to the big screens. They are currently working together on Star Wars: Starfighter.
During Disney’s D23 event last week, it was finally revealed that Gosling’s character in Star Wars: Starfighter will be named Kade Auberon. While teasing his character’s journey in the film, Gosling said, “Kade is a guy from the wrong side of the galaxy, whose fate is intertwined with the fastest starfighter ever built.”
Further, director Levy said, “I’m honored that we’re releasing our film on the same exact weekend that the original ‘Star Wars’ came out exactly 50 years earlier.”
Star Wars: Starfighter had a brief teaser revealed at D23 that showed Kade finding a young man playing with a decommissioned fighter jet, once touted as the fastest ever built. Once he gets the ship going, Kade embarks on an adventurous space journey through different alien worlds.
The Star Wars: Starfighter movie will be released in theaters on May 28, 2027.
