Lanterns: Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner Cast in Another DCU Project Besides Man of Tomorrow

Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner seems to be becoming the DCU’s linchpin, as the actor has been cast in another upcoming TV series. Fillion was introduced as the arrogant Green Lantern in James Gunn’s Superman in 2025, and he reprised the role in Peacemaker season 2. Fillion will once again return as Gardner in this year’s Lanterns ahead of the Superman sequel.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lanterns showrunner Tom King revealed that Fillion has joined DC’s upcoming Mister Miracle TV show.

“We brought Nathan into Mister Miracle’s show, and doing that, it’s just so wonderful,” King said. “He brings that energy to every aspect of it. And you would think it would be different tonally from [Lanterns], but it blends because that’s who Guy is. He’s that guy who is over the top. We all know that guy who’s a little bit like that.”

What else do we know about the Mister Miracle show with Nathan Fillion?

The animated Mister Miracle series was announced at this year’s Annecy International Film Festival. The first look at the show revealed a new look at Scott Free, the titular hero. The adult show is being developed by Tom King, who has previously written comic books featuring the character.

The show will follow Free and his wife, Big Barda, living a quiet life on Earth. The show will also feature Darkseid and the war between Apokolips and New Genesis. It is being produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn confirmed that it will be set in the DCU canon earlier this year. While no casting has been revealed, King teased that Darkseid’s actor will be an unexpected choice for fans.

The animated Mister Miracle series currently doesn’t have a release date. Following Lanterns, Fillion will reprise the role of Guy Gardner in Man of Tomorrow.
