Marvel Studios may have another actor in mind for its new Beast. House of the Dragon star Fabien Frankel is reportedly being considered for the role of Beast in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot.
The claim comes from Marvel scooper DoomsServant on X, who wrote, “I’ve heard Fabien Frankel is a possibility for Beast.” While the report highlights a potential interest, Frankel is not currently in formal negotiations with Marvel Studios, nor has the studio officially announced anything regarding this move.
@DoomsServant has often grabbed attention for sharing Marvel casting and production claims. The account previously reported that Marvel was considering Wagner Moura for Sebastian Shaw in the new X-Men movie.
Some of the scooper’s past reports have turned out to be accurate. Still, this latest casting rumor should be taken with a pinch of salt until Marvel makes an official announcement.
Marvel’s new X-Men lineup is taking shape amid casting rumors
Before this latest report, several other casting rumors have surfaced around Marvel’s mutant team. Kit Connor has reportedly joined the project as Cyclops, also known as Scott Summers. Samara Weaving has reportedly been roped to play Emma Frost.
Charles Melton was previously reported as one of the choices for the role of Beast. His name came up in reports from Jeff Sneider. Frankel’s reported connection now means that Marvel could still be looking at more than one actor for Hank McCoy.
Other rumored characters include Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue, Professor X, Magneto, and Mister Sinister. Marvel has yet to officially confirm most of these reports.
Jake Schreier will direct the upcoming film. He previously pushed back on online casting reports, making clear that they were not official. “We’re talking about things, we’re thinking about things,” Schreier said.
Frankel is best known for playing Criston Cole in HBO’s House of the Dragon. If he lands the role, he will play a younger version of Beast in Marvel’s new X-Men team.
