Avengers: Secret Wars May Finally Give Loki the Second Chance Doomsday Wouldn’t

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is confirmed to return to the big screen in Avengers: Doomsday, and recent speculation suggests that the fan-favorite character will also appear in Secret Wars. However, the latest reports have claimed that Loki will experience a tragic development in Doomsday before his potential comeback in Secret Wars.

Loki reported to return in Avengers: Secret Wars despite brutal fate in Doomsday

According to entertainment insider MyTimeToShineHello, the God of Stories will be meeting his end in Avengers: Doomsday. However, in their latest X (formerly Twitter) post, the insider also claimed that Loki will still make an appearance in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. A mainstay in the MCU, the character was last seen in the Season 2 finale of the Loki series.

This comes after MTTSH’s previous report regarding the character, which shared a similar update about his future. There, the scooper simply mentioned, “Tom Hiddleston will return in Avengers Secret Wars.” However, in both updates, they did not specify the nature or importance of the character’s role in Secret Wars.

With the reports speculating about Loki’s death in Avengers: Doomsday, it is possible that the character might die in a battle against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, only to return in Secret Wars in a flashback sequence. The character could also appear via another Loki variant, who could replace the original following his death in Doomsday.

Fans have also theorized that Doctor Doom might spare Loki’s life in Doomsday and use him in the role of Molecule Man, as seen in the Secret Wars storyline in Marvel comics. This could see Doom leverage Loki as an energy source to create “Battleworld” in the film.

Avengers: Doomsday is on track to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with its sequel, Secret Wars, scheduled to premiere on December 17, 2027.
