Anticipated Netflix Show’s Last Season Took 2 Weeks to Film ‘Huge’ Action Scene

The final season of a hit Netflix show took its crew two weeks to film a major action scene. The fantasy series will conclude with Season 3, while Season 2 premieres later this month

What Netflix show that’s ending took two weeks to film a huge action scene?

Avatar: The Last Airbender, the live-action remake of the beloved animated show, will end after Season 3. The second and third seasons were shot at the same time, so the cast and crew were able to give some insight about the final season as well. Gordon Cormier, who plays Aang, revealed that the final fight between him and Fire Lord Ozai took about two weeks to film.

Cormier said, “It was huge. Everything about it was big. I don’t think we’ve ever shot a fight sequence as long as that one took. It was probably over the span of two weeks, and I think we went back to it quite a bit…Lots of wires, lots of insane stunts.”

Adding to that, Dallas Liu, who plays Zuko, called an upcoming Agni Kai firebender duel “the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life.” Gabe Llanas, the show’s co-executive producer, also revealed that the crew was “rewriting season 3 while working on season 2.”

“In Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, Avatar Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley) regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against the fearsome Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), which takes them to the impenetrable city of Ba Sing Se,” reads season 2’s synopsis.

“Along the way, Aang convinces Toph (Miyako), an audacious young master, to train him in earthbending, a skill he’ll need to eventually stop the Fire Nation. Unfortunately for Team Avatar, Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) is still determined to capture Aang — and his formidable sister, Azula (Elizabeth Yu), has also joined the fray.”

Fans can get a glimpse of the exciting action that awaits in season 2 in its new trailer. Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 releases on Netflix on June 25, 2026.
