A new Avengers: Secret Wars rumor suggests an important villain could soon be coming to the MCU.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday has wrapped production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the MCU movie is scheduled to arrive in 2026. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then arrives in 2027.
Which villain will reportedly be introduced in Avengers: Secret Wars?
According to scooper James Mack, per ComicBookMovie, Black Swan will make their MCU debut in Avengers: Secret Wars.
This is only a rumor and should be treated as such at this time, as there’s been no announcement from Marvel regarding Black Swan’s presence in either of the forthcoming Avengers movies.
There have been two supervillains who have gone by the name of Black Swan in Marvel Comics lore thus far. One of them is a mutant, created by Gail Simone and the artists of Udon Studios, who first appeared in 2002’s Deadpool #65. This Black Swan has the power to implant a telepathic virus in the minds of others.
The other Black Swan, also known as Yabbat Ummon Tarru, was created by Jonathan Hickman and Steve Epting. First appearing in 2013’s New Avengers #1, Yabbat’s planet, Earth-1365, was destroyed during an incursion. She managed to survive after being saved by an organization that believes incursions happen because of their god, Rabum Alal (who is eventually revealed to be Doctor Doom), and are necessary in order to save the entire multiverse. Yabbat then travels to Earth-616 during its first incursion and is captured by the Illuminati.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released in United States theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Secret Wars then follows on December 17, 2027. Prior to both of those movies, Spider-Man: Brand New Day first comes on July 31, 2026.
