2025 has already been a great year for blockbusters, with many movies having earned great praise and performed excellently at the box office. This cut-throat competition at the theaters led to many movies outperforming each other. For instance, F1 has impressively outpaced James Gunn’s first DCEU outing, Superman, at the box office. This live-action remake of Disney’s 2002 movie of the same name centers around a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts an extraterrestrial creature that helps her improve her familial relationships. This movie earned over $1.03 billion at the box office.

A Minecraft Movie

This live adaptation of the famous video game, Minecraft, by Mojang Studios has scored $957.7 million, nearly close to crossing the billion mark.

Jurassic World: Rebirth

As the seventh installment in the Jurassic Park franchise, this movie earned over $855 million. In comparison to some of its predecessors, the numbers are low. Jurassic World (2015) is still regarded as the most financially successful movie in the franchise, earning $1.67 billion, per The Numbers.

Gunn’s first outing in his new DCEU universe fell over 2 million short of surpassing F1. It has so far bagged $611 million+ at the box office.
