Though a scene was shot for 2009âs Star Trek featuring the Klingons that didnât make the final cut, theyâre making a comeback in a big way in this film.
âTheir role in this is definitely that of adversary,â Abrams teased, âand youâll see how that plays out.â
Itâs been expected by many that Alice Eveâs character Carol Marcus will play a love interest to Chris Pineâs Captain Kirk, but (while it may happen) Abrams confirms that the film wonât slow down to squeeze in a love story.
â(Kirk) meets her fairly early on and again she plays a science officer, sheâs someone who is a part of the adventure. Â I think Chris is right, because itâs very much an action adventure movie and once that gets going itâs a very difficult thing to park the story. So itâs very difficult to do a romantic interlude. Her role is important, she wouldnât be in the movie otherwise.â
