RIP Michael Clarke Duncan, Dead at 54

He played a number of iconic comic book roles over the past ten years, but now it’s being reported that actor Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away at the age of 54 due to complications from a heart attack back in July.

A popular actor to cast in genre films due to his size and presence, Clarke Duncan played the Kingpin in the 20th Century Fox movie Daredevil, the equally large Manute in Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City and most recently, he provided the voice for the Green Lantern Corps’ drill sergeant Kilowog in Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern. He also provided his voice for an episode of the 2005 cartoon “Teen Titans.”

Duncan only began his acting career in the late ’90s, already in his 40s, and his first major screen role, playing the inmate John Coffey in Frank Darabont’s 2000 prison drama The Green Mile, earned him an Oscar nomination.

Clarke Duncan was engaged to marry “The Celebrity” reality star Omarosa Stallworth who passed the sad news onto the news wires.
