First Image of Super's Crimson Bolt

James Gunn has officially released the first image of his superhero character, the Crimson Bolt, from the upcoming Super on his official website, JamesGunn.com.

Super offers Gunn's take on the superhero genre and stars Rainn Wilson as an average guy who takes on the pseudo-superhero alter ego of the Crimson Bolt, after watching his wife (Liv Tyler) fall under the spell of a charming drug dealer (Kevin Bacon).

Now that's a nerdy alter-ego I ever I saw one! Now wait a sec. Is somebody missing the boat by not having a superhero team consisting of Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson? That would be, without a doubt, one pants-wettingly funny combo! I can just see them fighting over who gets to be the hero, and who's the sidekick! Get on it somebody!

I don't know about this. I've never really been a fan of superhero spoofs, which this seems to be.

I'm all up for new ideas that may have different takes on superheroes that may be cool or funny, but I think we are on the edge of stupid takes for awhile. This...this holds no interest for me.

i'm in the digital video production program at the college i attend, i made my own low rent superhero film at exactly the same time Kick-Ass came out. as somebody who has walked down that road before, this actually doesn't suck as a costume idea, it brings in a lot of function for what it lacks in fashion
