This week has been pretty heavy with bits of news for Warner Bros.’ upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and in addition to the latest photos that we’ve already covered, here we wanted to put together some other pieces that we thought might be of interest to all of you. Dive in below for more details on additional photography for the film, where you’ll be able to see Ben Affleck’s cowl on display, and more!
Back in May, when the official title for “Batman v Superman” was confirmed, Warner Bros. revealed that shooting for the film would be done on location in a number of places, including Detroit (current home of the production), Africa and the South Pacific. Now things have gotten specific as filmmaker Nassim Abassi (via Batman-News) has tweeted that the film’s production will be set up in Morocco this fall.
It’s unlikely that the entire production will be on location for this shooting, which could be mostly second unit, especially with additional photography set to happen in other parts of the world.
“Bat-Fleck” cowl to be displayed
This past June, it was revealed that Warner Bros. was putting together “The Batman Exhibit” to showcase in a special museum on the studio lot in Burbank, California, and now the studio has revealed that a brand new addition will be present at the exhibit: The cape and cowl worn by Ben Affleck in the upcoming film. The piece was previously shown at San Diego Comic-Con as well.
Wayne, Bruce Wayne
While taking part in an AMA on Reddit yesterday, former James Bond Pierce Brosnan was asked if he was ever approached to play Batman, which the actor revealed in fact he was.
“Yes, I did. I went and met with Tim Burton for the role of Batman. But I just couldn’t really take it seriously, any man who wears his underpants outside his pants just cannot be taken seriously. That was my foolish take on it. It was a joke, I thought. But how wrong was I? Don’t get me wrong, because I love Batman, and I grew up on Batman. As a kid in Ireland, we used to get our raincoats and tie them round our neck and swing through the bicycle shed…”
No one tell Pierce that Batman didn’t end up wearing his “underwear” on the outside in that film, okay?
