Even though rumor has it the role won’t be very large in The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, Shailene Woodley has been cast as Mary Jane Watson for the film, but what does the former Mary Jane Watson, Kirsten Dunst, think about the casting?
“I really like her, a lot,” Dunst told MTV News. “I’ve met her a few times and we’ve talked about health foods, we know some of the same people, she’s really into finding springs and natural water and she’ll go get her water and things like that. I’ve done that before, and we’ve talked about that. I think she’s a sweetheart and such a good actress.
“I’m happy, If I had to pick someone, I’m happy she’s following in my shoes.”
So, in short, they’ve hit the jackpot.
Woodley joins stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. Also joining the film is Jamie Foxx as Electro and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn. Marc Webb also returns to direct the film, which is targeting a May 2, 2014 release.
