Duncan Jones Teases Original Graphic Novel

With his sophmore film, Source Code hitting on April 1st, Moon director Duncan Jones is already planning his third film, which he told we got this covered would be a "city based future film" that he likens to Blade Runner. Jones dropped a few more details about the project to SuperHeroHype in a recent interview and also suggested that his now-cancelled project, Mute, could be come a graphic novel instead of a film.

In addition to the as-of-yet-untitled third film being a science fiction, Jones confirmed that it will, like Moon come from one of his original ideas. It is also possible that some elements from Mute could carry over, as, when discussing the future of that project, Jones also likened the world to Blade Runner.

"[‘Mute’] might be a project that, if I don’t get myself back into the mindset where I really want to make that film, I might try to do that as a graphic novel and see if that’s a way to re-excite myself for that project," Jones told SuperHeroHype, "I know it was good and I know what I wanted to do with it. It was something that really hadn’t been seen since ‘Blade Runner’. It was that kind of world. But there’s just so much going on right now and so much that I really want to do. I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to do that anytime soon. So I might do that as a graphic novel, read it and see if I like it as much and then go back to it."

This same tactic was famously used by Darren Aronofsky for his The Fountain, which later returned in feature film form.
