Guillermo Wants a Hellboy Trilogy
Sequel to feature Johan the Ectoplasmic Agent

Empire magazine interviewed Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro, who's currently writing the sequel, and he mentioned a third film as well...
First of all, what word on Hellboy 2 – and possibly beyond? Well, Guillermo is writing a sequel, along with comic creator Mike Mignola. "I would love to make Hellboy into a trilogy. Creatively, Mike Mignola and I know that we want to at least do that. Economically, it's the studio's decision." But what of the plot of the sequel? "We tried to do an entire sequel based on the Roger [a homunculus created by a scientist to bring about the end of the world] origin story, and found it to be actually very similar to what Hellboy is in the first movie — a conflicted monster.
