ComingSoon.net reports that 15 films have been selected as semifinalists for Achievement in Visual Effects for the 82nd Academy Awards, and the list includes G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Sherlock Holmes, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Watchmen. Three of the 15 films will be nominated for final Oscar consideration.
