9 Heroes That Should Have Their Own TV Series

Deadpool is really popular, and I don’t mean passing-phase popular, people love him more now than they did a few years ago. He’s had tons of comics bear his name in the past 15 years and he’s even got his own video game in the works. While he might not be Wolverine or Spider-Man-like mainstream that’s still pretty good for any comic book character. Now why hasn’t he made the leap? Is it because of the controversial performance by Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Deadpool’s over the top violence, fourth-wall breaking banter, and over active-mouth are perfect for television. Yes, the character is allegedly getting his own movie, but there is so much crazy in Deadpool that it can’t be contained in 100 minutes every few years.
I’m a huge fan of serialized TV, which is why the prospect of all these being TV shows is exciting to me, but at the same time they all can function as standalone episodes. I won’t say that Deadpool could be a procedural because it really can’t, but if each episode dealt with a different mission/villain it could work. Deadpool as a show would be like Adventure Time with guns, swearing, and more swearing, meaning a great grown-up show with smart humor and true eye candy violence.
