TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Adds Casey Jones and 6-Player Co-op

It seems like it’s been a very long time since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge was announced. But the wait is almost over. Today, Dotemu announced that Shredder’s Revenge will debut next week on, Thursday, June 16. However, the bigger reveal is that the Turtles’ fan-favorite ally, Casey Jones, has been added to the selection of playable characters. Now, gamers can choose between Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, Splinter, April O’Neil, and Casey Jones as they take on Shredder and the Foot Clan.

To go along with the announcement, Dotemu debuted a Casey Jones-themed trailer for the game that also revealed a new 6-player co-op mode. Since there are seven playable characters, someone is gonna be left on the bench. But having six players is a feature that not even the two TMNT arcade games had. And with Casey on the roster, the only character left off of our dream picks is Usagi Yojimbo.

Unlike the Turtles themselves, Casey sacrifices speed for power within the game. Some of Casey’s moves even seem to emulate pro wrestlers, including his elbow drop and Casey’s preference for smashing his enemies with sporting goods.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. If you can wait, Limited Run Games is also bringing the game out on disc as limited editions. Limited Run’s preorders haven’t begun yet, and the physical copies won’t ship out until later this year. As stated above, the digital release date is June 16.
