Jurassic World Aftermath VR Game Hits Oculus Quest in December

If you ever watched the Jurassic Park films and thought running away from Velociraptors looked like fun, then Coatsink has the perfect video game for you. The studio has just premiered the first trailer for its upcoming VR experience inspired by the Jurassic World franchise.  Jurassic World Aftermath is coming to the Oculus Quest platform later this year.

Aftermath takes place two years after the events of the first Jurassic World movie. The game casts players as an unnamed protagonist who has just crash landed on Isla Nublar. From there, they will have to to traverse the island’s harsh terrain and ruined lab facilities. Sounds easy enough, except that a pack of raptors will be stalking them from the shadows the whole time. Their only hope of survival is to locate a set of confidential research materials in order to escape.

Throughout the game, players will have to duck under tables and hide in lockers to avoid getting eaten. As they explore the island and outwit the prehistoric predators, they must also solve puzzles to advance the story. It’s not clear if players will come into contact with any other types of dinosaurs. However, a pterodactyl can be seen flying around at the beginning of the trailer. Aftermath also makes use of a cell-shaded animation style to “enhance the intensity and the thrills” of the game.

Jurassic World Aftermath will be released for Oculus Quest on December 17. More information about the game can be found here.
