Mortal Kombat 11 Debuts Spawn Gameplay Trailer

Nearly three decades ago, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn made his first appearance in comics. Spawn was also a guest fighter in Soulcalibur II back in 2003. But later this month, Spawn is finally coming to Outworld as the final DLC character in Mortal Kombat 11‘s Fighter Pack 1.

NetherRealm Studios has released the Spawn gameplay trailer from Mortal Kombat 11. Keith David is reprising his role as Spawn from the HBO animated series. During the introduction, Spawn proposes an alliance with Scorpion, given their similar history. However, Spawn isn’t willing to play well with others, even in Hell.

Within the comics, Spawn was originally a mercenary named Al Simmons. After he was betrayed and murdered, Simmons was sent to Hell. Simmons also made a deal with a demon to become a Hellspawn. However, Spawn turned on his masters and waged a war on both Heaven and Hell for his soul. As seen in the footage below, Spawn’s living costume does a lot of the fighting for him. But he’s also willing to get his hands bloody, if he has to.

Spawn will be available to early access MK 11 players on March 17. Everyone else will have to wait until March 24 for the full release.
