New Iron Man VR Trailer Confirms the Game’s 2020 Release Date

Tony Stark may be gone from the MCU, but his armored alter-ego is about to make a big splash on video game consoles. In addition to his appearance in Marvel’s Avengers, Sony and Camouflaj are about to give players the chance to fill Stark’s iron boots like never before. Over the weekend, the developers dropped a new trailer for Iron Man VR, which will be exclusively available to PlayStation 4 users early next year.

This latest trailer outlines the game’s story. As Iron Man, players will be able to take full advantage of his suit’s technology. But as Tony Stark, they must reckon with his past as a weapons manufacturer, which left behind a trail of victims. One of those victims happens to be Ghost, who serves as the game’s primary antagonist. She takes it upon herself to avenge the casualties of Tony’s former hubris. Her message is simple: “Don’t atone for your sins. Die for them.”

Of course, the trailer features plenty of new gameplay footage. Players will fly across a variety of locations, including deserts and the urban caverns of New York City. They’ll face off against swarms of enemies onboard S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarriers and race against the clock to repair a Stark jet mid-flight. Several familiar MCU locations, such as Stark Tower and Tony’s Malibu mansion, will be featured as well. Even Nick Fury will make an appearance.

Lead writer Brendan Murphy penned a blog post on the PlayStation website to share even more details. There will be two versions of the game: the standard edition, which costs $39.99, and a deluxe edition. The deluxe version retails for $49.99 and comes with a few bonus features, including four extra suits. Players will also obtain 12 Research Points (which can be used to craft upgrades), a digital deluxe soundtrack, and an exclusive PS4 theme. Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive four more alternate outfits and a different theme.

Iron Man VR hits stores on February 28, 2020. You can watch the new trailer for the game and check out an early look at the bonuses below, then tell us what you think in the comment section!
