What do we know about Peacemaker Season 2?
John Cena will once again reprise his role as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker in the second season of the Max series. Cena originally played the character in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, which was directed by Gunn, and the first season of the series, which premiered in 2022.
Also reprising their roles in Peacemaker Season 2 are Danielle Brooks as Leota Adabayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos.
Plot details for Peacemaker Season 2 remain under wraps at this time; however, Gunn has previously said that the season will address the new continuity in his and Peter Safran’s forthcoming DCU, which officially kicks off later this year with an animated Creature Commandos series. Following that, Superman, written and directed by Gunn, flies into theaters in July 2025.
Gunn has also confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 will feature a new intro title sequence.
The second season of Peacemaker will consist of eight episodes. It’s unclear at this time whether or not Viola Davis will reprise her role as Amanda Waller in the new season; however, a spin-off series featuring Davis’ character is also in the works. Waller does not have a release date at this time.
Currently filming at the same time as Superman after having been delayed because of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, Peacemaker Season 2 does not yet have a Max premiere date at this time. The first season, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Max.
