Echo MCU Maya Lopez Scarlet Witch crossover

Echo’s Alaqua Cox Pitches Which MCU Character She Wants to Have a Crossover With

Echo star Alaqua Cox wants to see Maya Lopez and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch share the screen in an MCU crossover.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, Cox was asked if there are any pre-existing MCU characters she’d want to either fight with or against in a potential crossover project.

“The first person that comes to mind is WandaVision or Scarlet Witch. I’d love to see her,” Cox answered.

Played by Elizabeth Olsen, the Earth-616 version of Wanda was last seen in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While the character takes a villainous turn for the majority of the movie, the end of the Doctor Strange sequel sees her recognize the error of her ways and then sacrifice herself in order to destroy all the copies of the Darkhold within the multiverse.

When asked what the future might hold for Maya in the MCU, Cox also said, “I can see Maya appearing in more Daredevil stuff for sure. And, maybe the new Avengers is something I would like to think about. That would be awesome to see that happen. So, fingers crossed.”

What is Echo about?

“Streaming exclusively on Disney, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown,” the official synopsis reads. “She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.”

Serving as a spin-off to 2021’s Hawkeye, Echo comes from head writers Marion Dayre and Amy Rardin. Along with Cox, the series stars Chaske Spencer as Henry “Black Crow” Lopez, Tantoo Cardinal as Chula, Devery Jacobs as Bonnie, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Cody Lightning as Biscuits, Graham Greene as Skully, and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

All five episodes of Echo are now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
