Report: Daredevil’s Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson Returning for Born Again

Netflix Daredevil stars Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will reportedly appear in Disney+‘s Daredevil: Born Again after all.

According to noted industry insider Jeff Sneider via his blog, The InSneider, Woll and Henson will reprise their roles as Karen Page and Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, respectively, in Daredevil Born Again. The two actors, who starred in all three seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, were noticeably absent from Born Again’s initial cast list.

Sneider reports that Woll and Henson’s addition to Born Again comes as a result of the creative overhaul that saw Dario Scardapane take over as showrunner of the Disney+ series. That said, it’s currently unclear how big a role Karen and Foggy will have in the new show. (Sneider cautions that they “may only be in the first episode.”) Still, Marvel Studios‘ Daredevil reboot will reportedly hew closer to the original Netflix series under Scardapane.

Assuming Sneider’s report is accurate, Woll and Henson join a cast that already includes fellow Daredevil alums Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Jon Bernthal. Additional cast members include Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Sandrine Holt, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Clark Johnson, Arty Froushan, and Zabryna Guevara.

Netflix’s Daredevil is officially MCU canon

News of Woll and Henson’s supposed involvement in Born Again comes mere days after Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series Echo confirmed Marvel Television’s Netflix originals — including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage — as Marvel Cinematic Universe canon. Disney+ even added these shows to its official MCU timeline hub, from which they were previously excluded.

In Netflix’s Daredevil, Cox and D’Onofrio led the charge as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively. A few years after Marvel‘s Netflix lineup folded, Cox reprised his heroic role in both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. D’Onofrio, meanwhile, returned as Kingpin in Disney+’s Hawkeye. Both actors then appeared in Echo — the first Marvel Studios production to directly acknowledge the events of Daredevil.

Echo also directly sets up Daredevil: Born Again, which will see Cox and D’Onofrio once again get top billing. The aforementioned Bernthal, meanwhile, will reportedly reprise his role as Frank Castle/the Punisher. (Bernthal’s Punisher debuted in Daredevil Season 2 before spinning off into a Netflix series of his own.) Meanwhile, the aforementioned Holt will take over the role of Vanessa Fisk (whom Ayelet Zurer played in Daredevil Season 3).

Daredevil: Born Again will stream on Disney+. The series does not currently have a premiere date.
