Norman Reedus Injured on the Set of The Walking Dead

As production on The Walking Dead’s final season nears its end, the series has been hit with a minor setback before it closes up shop for good. According to Deadline, Norman Reedus suffered a head injury last week while filming in Georgia. Norman Reedus injured.

The report doesn’t offer specifics about what happened, but the accident took place last Friday, March 11. It’s also unclear if Reedus was injured while cameras were rolling. But luckily, it sounds like he’s already on the mend according to a new update from Reedus’ spokesperson, Jeffrey Chassen.

“Norman suffered a concussion on set,” said Chassen. “He is recovering well and will return to work soon.  Thank you to everyone for their concern.”

Reedus was recently scheduled to make an appearance at Fandemic Tour’s stop in Atlanta this weekend. But yesterday, the convention announced that he was forced to back out due to his injury. The accident will also delay The Walking Dead’s last day of filming by at least a few days.

This isn’t the first time that a cast or crew member has suffered an injury on The Walking Dead‘s set. One of the more high-profile incidents happened in 2017, when stuntman John Bernecker died after falling off a balcony and landing head-first on a concrete floor. His family was later awarded $8.6 million in damages. Reedus also cut his arm up while filming an episode of the series in 2015.

Despite this, Reedus is still set to co-headline a new Walking Dead spinoff with Melissa McBride after the flagship series wraps up its 11-season run. In the meantime, the show’s next episode will air this Sunday, March 20 on AMC.
