The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Unleashes Character Posters

The latest bit of marketing from Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power manages to simultaneously reveal a whole lot…and yet not much at all. As of publication time, the streamer dropped 23 separate character posters, but without faces or names. Just a slew of hands and costumes.

Now, we can certainly make some educated guesses. The hand above, for example, looks like Sauron’s armor. The posters with proportionately huge acorns and berries suggest either Dwarves or Hobbits. Elven armor stands out. The hands with three rings could be Celebrimbor, forger of the rings for the Elves. But the Second Age covers a lot of ground. Could some of these include Ar-Pharazon, Amandil, or even Galadriel? Morfydd Clark is set to play the young version of the role played originally by Cate Blanchett; this is one of only two character castings confirmed so far. The other is Simon Merrells as Trevyn. Other notable cast members include Peter Mullan and Lenny Henry.
