Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond Hit HBO Max in January

The crown jewels of DC’s animated slate are finally coming to HBO Max next month. According to The Verge, all episodes of Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond will be available to watch on WarnerMedia’s new streaming service on January 1.

Both series were previously available to stream on DC Universe, which is currently in the midst of a content overhaul. The platform is planning to rebrand itself as DC Universe Infinite and become a digital comics library akin to Marvel Unlimited. As a result, original programs like Titans and Harley Quinn have already segued over to HBO Max. The vast majority of its animated offerings are gone as well. However, some shows like Justice League and SYFY’s Krypton are still there (for now). The relaunch takes effect on January 21.

This latest move brings over all 85 episodes of Batman: The Animated Series and all 52 episodes of Batman Beyond. The Verge’s report doesn’t mention if TAS’ sequel series, The New Batman Adventures, is also hitting HBO Max in the future. Regardless, these aren’t the only animated DC projects on their way to the new streaming service. WarnerMedia is also adding Green Lantern: The Animated Series on January 1. That same day, subscribers can watch fan-favorite films like Superman: Doomsday and Batman: Bad Blood. The newest DC animated movies, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War and Superman: Man of Tomorrow, will also arrive on HBO Max on New Year’s Day.
