Hayden Christensen Joins the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

Last year, Ewan McGregor was finally able to confirm that he will return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new Disney+ original series. However, McGregor won’t be the only prequel trilogy star to return. During the Disney Investor Day presentation, Kathleen Kennedy announced that Hayden Christensen has joined the series.

Christensen portrayed Anakin Skywalker in two of the Star Wars prequels. Regardless, he will be appearing in the new show as Darth Vader, following Anakin’s fall in Revenge of the Sith.

Kennedy also revealed that the series will take place ten years after Revenge of the Sith. Additionally, Kennedy said that Darth Vader is looking for a rematch with Obi-Wan.

While a premiere date for the series is still far away, Kennedy did confirm that it will begin shooting in March 2021. It’s part of an ambitious slate of ten Star Wars original series created exclusively for Disney+. It looks like The Mandalorian was just the beginning, and the all-new storylines will unfold in multiple eras of Star Wars.
