Real Heroes Wear Masks in The CW’s Latest Arrowverse Posters

Earlier this year, the COVID-19 outbreak shut down production on virtually every series in The CW’s Arrowverse, which forced a few of those shows to cut their latest seasons short by a few episodes. The Flash and Superman and Lois recently set August start dates in Vancouver for their seventh and first seasons, respectively. But while Canada has done a respectable job of containing the coronavirus, the U.S. death toll continues to rise. That might explain The CW’s newest marketing push for the Arroverse’s return next year.

The network has just released a new series of posters that show some of the Arrowverse’s heroes wearing masks to protect themselves from the coronavirus. You can check them out for yourself via DiscussingFilm below.

Armed with the “Real heroes wear masks” tagline, the posters encourage viewers to keep doing their part by showing Stargirl, The Flash, Superman, and Legends of Tomorrow’s Beebo with masks photoshopped over their faces. Noticeably absent is Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl and Javicia Leslie’s new Batwoman, Ryan Wilder, but the latter isn’t surprising. Leslie only joined Batwoman’s cast last month, and it’s not clear if she’s had her first costume fitting yet. The posters also once again tell us that these shows will premiere their new seasons in 2021.

In the meantime, medical professionals continue to stress that wearing face coverings is one of the most effective ways to curb the virus’ spread. So be like your favorite heroes and mask up.
